It is ANT+ compatible which means it can be hooked up with sensors that measure heart rate, gear shifting, speed, and other cool things. Check your speed and route on the map on the display and feel safe – if you tip over the built-in incident detection system will alert your emergency contact.
You can also buy the cycle computer in a bundle with a heart rate chest strap – which I recommend if you are a serious biker.

Hi there, I am in awe with the Revolights-what an awesome concept! I just love how bright they are and that the back lights flash when slowing down, what a wonderful safety device! We live in a warm climate, so people ride their bikes year round, especially at night when we have cooler weather. I work the night shift at a hospital and see some sad bike accidents, I wish more people had lights on their bicycles, it would help so many people out. Cycling is one of my hobbies besides of running. The reason being I rarely cycling is due to my working schedule and causes me ride on the night which I personally felt dangerous on the road. At least in my City-Singapore.

Oh my word! Who knew there was such fascinating and fantastic gadgetry for bikes! As a cycle enthusiast I am absolutely mesmerised by some these bad boys on the list – must say never seen nor heard of any of there in asia (Thailand/Malaysia) where I live.

I bicycle everyday to work, and I have a pretty good bike, but I have never seen any of those cool gadgets! I definitely would like to get the light on wheel, which would be really handy in the winter time. I also like the battery charger, which I think is a cool idea. Riding bikes should be fun and the tools you suggest definitely make it fun and enjoyable!

Bike accessories have certainly come a long way in the last few years. Bikes today need these new modern gadgets to make the cycling experience enjoyable. I have a 9 to 5 job and I get to ride my bike only at night and in my country, we don’t have a separate lane for cyclist and hence its kind of a risk to cycle at night. Very awesome post! I did not know some of these devices even existed! I have already ordered the Fly 6 Rear camera and am considering the Hornit siren! There are so many cool gadgets for bikes! Wow I never knew so much went into bikes. I’ve been cycling for fun for about 7 years now and I did not know of all these cool gadgets I was missing out on. Would you suggest any of these for a cause rider like myself or is the more for experienced riders.

Hi, James! It’s a ton of cool bike gadgets on the marked. I have only selected the best ones (in my opinion) in this list. You can absolutely enjoy many of these gadgets even if you are not a professional rider. I guess your bike experience level is pretty good anyway.
You mention the Wahoo speed and cadence sensor and the Icedot crash sensor. I feel that the Wahoo can be used by anyone in any level, so it fits you perfectly. The Icedot is a good safety tool, but in my opinion this gadget is for more professional road-cyclists that may find themselves alone on the road who need an extra level of safety.

I particularly liked the smart bike lock because traditional locks aren’t always foolproof and in the event that it breaks, you’ll be totally oblivious. It’s also automatically unlocks when you’re near which makes it very convenient to have!
I will be looking forward to buying it once I have checked other alternative.

Awesome article. A lot of stuff to try. I will start by the LINKA SMART BIKE LOCK. Seems pretty comfortable. My current bike lock is heavy and sometimes is impossible to carry, and it doesn’t fit everywhere. Do you know how much weight does the linka smart lock add up to the bicycle?

All these gadgets are pretty interesting. I really like The Plug USB charger, this is something I didn’t even know existed. So you can actually charge your phone or tablet by power generated from peddling your bike, that is so cool. I can see myself using that often, the only problem is I’m afraid someone will steal it if I leave it on my bike so I’ll have to take it out whenever I park my bike somewhere. But I guess if I’m cycling long distances on the road and not stopping then it’s not a problem.

I have a mountain bike and sometimes a go with this but never knew that there are so many gadgets. For me the must interesting gadgets is Venstar bluetooth speaker. I go biking with my wife and she always stays behind me because she’s slower than me. This gadget would help us a lot to keep the connection safe and maybe motivate her to go faster.

For real, this bike gadgets would only make the bike looks a lot sleecker and beautiful. I just love every bit of it.
