FINIS Neptune is a Waterproof Mp3 player for swimmers.

The FINIS Neptune Mp3 Player is a waterproof gadget that lets your listen to music, podcasts and audio books underwater. How awesome is that! No more long training exercises in the pool in silence other than maybe your instructors are shouting.

The audio transmission is based on Bone Conduction technology which means that the sound vibration goes through your cheekbone, through the bone, and to your inner ear. This is the best way to listen to audio while swimming and you are not reliant of uncomfortable ear buds falling out. It feels like the music is played inside your head.

The underwater Mp3 player has two speakers that fit on your goggle straps on each side. Between the speakers are the Mp3 player itself with a high contrast OLED screen. On the screen, you can see which song and artist that is playing. This part is attached on the back of your head in the same manner. Four buttons control the playback and jumping between songs. It is possible to set the playlist to play on random.

The internal storage of 4 GB can handle almost 1000 songs depending on the size. That should be enough for quite some time, about 60 hours, and make your training in the water much more enjoyable.  A USB cable follows in the box for charging and uploading Mp3 files. A fully charged battery last for about 8 hours.

Good sound

The sound has surprisingly good quality to be an underwater music player and is crystal clear. Since your ear canals are not blocked by earbuds, you can hear all normal sounds and messages given to you as well.

One last thing to think about is that that underwater Mp3 player for swimmers like this one works best when your head is under water. For example breast stroke swimmers may experience a change in sound quality if your head moves up and down to much but only if your head is long enough out of the water. The technology relies on water between the speaker piece and your head to transfer sound waves.
